OUTA HAND.

Oh, yawl ain't know? The Mayans were ACTUALLY anticipating the release of THIS.

12:12, Riddlore, Orko, Pugs Atomz, Revels, and ME on a Scife1 track? Come on now, that's just crazy-talk.

For those that listen too slow, my verse goes:

Is this the beginning of the end, or the end of the beginning?
All signs point to the time for repenting
The heavens open up and engage ten plagues because the underground religion's been sinning
First, it was a plague of Blood
Lil' Wayne and them got fame and then became a Blood
Which seems a little strange because the 'hood knows he's not, but he got a gang of fans claimin' Bloods
Keeping it fake is the new keeping it real
Changing yawl, more hip than hop, plague of frogs
And they forgot about the DJ, they deserve a lashing
A little vague advice and plague of lice will get them scratching
Catch them with the herd, it's a plague of wild animals
biting off the next man, self-consumed cannibals
I'm betting this plague of pestilence is 'finna deaden kids like a record label's annual
recoupment report! The soup's 'finna start to boil like the next plague,
best protect your fresh fade
Out to be keeping their mouths closed
thinking about when the clouds go open with the seventh plague
Hail from above - and now the platinum elite begin to notice and started to lose focus
Even some of the wannabe-underground locals
All they wanted was "buzz" so they got a plague of locusts
Then the darkness comes
when the little guy blocks the bigger guy like an eclipse of the sun
Busters rip and they run
Never once assuming they could have avoided this when it begun
But it's too late to take it back now, the wack now
suffer for words formed in every verse scorned
They say your lyrics are your brainchild;
so the tenth plague's been made to kill your first born

FOR THE WIN.

Anacron's "Rich Girls" UNFAMOUS Remix Contest closes with a bang, and after tumultuous bumps, the winners have been chosen! After several days of deliberation, the contest judges (Tiffology, DJ Audio 1, Ryan Monk, Moonsatellite, and the PNTGLLRYNTWRK's own JusChris) have selected the following pieces as the outstanding best of just under 20 entries.

Anacron - Rich Girls (MAW Remix) by MAW. 18-year old Australian DJ/producer Matt Watkins can be found doing his thing on the decks at various clubs around Melbourne, when he's not making smooth, futuristic tracks like this. Follow and hear many more of his tunes HERE.

Anacron - Rich Girls (n8 the gr8-remix) by n8thegr8cuf. West coast underground veteran producer and lyricist N8 The Gr8 has been rocking for years as a member of the legendary bay-area outfit The CUF, and has recently moved into producing and releasing artists from his stable, N-Crowd. Check out more of his latest masterpieces HERE

Anacron-Rich Girls (Siggatunez RMX) by siggatunez|siggi tunezia. German producer Siggi Tunezia has released numerous house tracks via European label Houseworx, despite a deep history rooted in hip hop. Many of his heavily infectious beats can be heard HERE.

Be sure to check out the contest collaborators in the coming days for more favorites that didn't make the final cut, and upcoming interviews/content from contest winners:

REMIX ME.

Holas, Bro-las!

If any of you awesome AnaManiacs were paying attention to my twitter/facebook feeds last night, then you already know that today marks the launch date for my first open-invite REMIX COMPETITION. If you make beats, play in a band, or compose/record any type of music whatsoever, this is your chance to get fresh prizes just by re-working my latest single, "Rich Girls".

My official cover of The Virgins "Rich Girls", which touched down just over a week ago, has been generating some serious noise with the upper echelon of underground music -- it's only a short matter of time before the indie "mainstream" grabs ahold of the bandwagon reins. Before that happens, I'm giving the music makers of the world a chance to put their own spin on it, and possibly win some awesomely UNFAMOUS prizes!

If this sounds like something you "might could" manage... Click the image and check out the contest details on my website. GOOD LUCK, competitors - come with your best!

Album Title: Atypicalcd

Featured Artists: Irie, PervOne, Astrobwoy, Christian Riley
Length: 14 Tracks / Approximately 55 Minutes

Release: Street Winter 2007 / Distribution Spring 2008
Finally, the most-known-unknown renaissance artist in hip hop returns with his first solo release in over 5 years. Atypicalcd is a full-length album that serves as an official re-introduction to second-generation Los Angeles underground veteran Anacron, who re-located to and assisted in cultivating Chicago’s budding hip hop scene at the dawn of the new millennium. Anacron shines brightly on this album, boasting his easily relatable, catchy, and conversational songwriting, rapping, and singing skills throughout the listen. In addition to his own traditionally inventive beat production style, the sonically crisp LP also features production by Chicago’s underground mainstay Earmint, and SubterrainArea from southern France. Old Man Malcolm, the DJ/producer of Citizen King, Garbage, Codebreaker, Newsense, Minus After, and several other noteworthy groups, also makes an appearance in preparation for Cornrowz, a forthcoming collaborative major release with Anacron. Vocal guests include Pairograffs comrade Irie, Peanut Gallery Network member and Seattle transplant PervOne, Newsense bassist and vocalist Christian Riley, and long-time Los Angeles collaborator Astrobwoy.
Anacron has released over 15 solo and group projects since 1994, but is most recognized for his efforts as project coordinator, producer, and lyricist on the heralded classic underground album Pals (Galapagos 4 / Basement Records) by Netherworlds (Murs, Himself, and Anacron). Already privy to a dedicated following and steadily growing fan-base, Anacron is a well-known figure in other sects of the hip hop and entertainment world, and has remained an active yet low-key element in the global hip hop scene throughout the past decade. Atypicalcd serves as the gateway to a string of upcoming releases that will re-introduce the various talents of, and make the world fall in love with the UNFAMOUS super-star quality of Anacron.

BEATS.

The sad thing about the internet giving us access to all the freshness that the entire WORLD has to offer, is that it also seems to somehow prevent us from noticing the gems that are right under our noses. UNFAMOUS is all about not letting that happen. That being said, I regret to inform you that you are SLEEPING on some of the freshest, most innovative, ground-breaking hip hop(?) music that the West Coast has to offer, and this is your wake-up call!

[FREE DOWNLOAD... get it NOW, do not wait!!!]

Well-known blogmaster and lesser-recognized beat-maker Moon Satellite has officially released an instrumental EP that is a certified mind-blower for anyone that is able to comprehend and appreciate that which spans beyond the typical 4/4 time signature hip hop standard. If this era in music were parallel to the evolution of jazz, this record would represent the inception of the free-jazz movement. Just like Eric Dolphy, Ornette Coleman, and John Coltrane; Moon Satellite reaches and eclipses horizons not yet explored in electronic music production, hopefully creating a sound that will inspire the creative growth of the chosen few that will truly embrace and appreciate this offering.

I would hope that you've been downloading the EP while reading my brief review; however, if you're still not convinced, chec out the visual sampler below if you need an extra push to wrap your mind around something truly legendary...
